Rustic Redefined; Raw but Refined – Inside Kaia’s Salon Design
Kaia in Edinburgh brings a new perspective to their ‘rustic salon design’ — modern, calm and intentional. Inspired by the warmth of Marrakesh, Bali and Mediterranean minimalism, the salon space layers organic textures, soft curves, raw warm timber and natural materials and to create a grounded, elevated environment.
Furniture and Finishes That Frame the Experience
The centrepiece of the salon is a custom-built, oversized timber table by Trae Joinery. Built at desk height, it’s designed to help clients disconnect from the mirror and feel more comfortable during downtime — reading, working, or simply relaxing.
Soft curves continue throughout the fit out, from the joinery to the arched mirrors and styling stations. The palette leans into natural light, textured finishes and a distinctly “new rustic” aesthetic — raw but refined. Comfortel’s Chloe Sand Styling Chairs were selected to complement the palette, while adding sculptural softness to the space. In the wash area, the Club Sand Wash Lounge anchors the zone in comfort and simplicity.
“The chairs and basin are the perfect fit,” shares Taneth. “Comfortel were incredibly helpful with everything I asked. Delivery was smooth and even after the install, they offered amazing follow-up support.”
